Although it began with enthusiasts, friends and professionals gathering to blind taste around 50 different gin recipes, Little Bird has become a favourite among many. Their distinctive gin label, with a picture of a ginger-haired poster girl called ‘Ginger’, is the work of Brighton-based illustrator and animator Jules Langran. Inspired by the word of Alberto Vargas, who was famous for his ‘Vargas Girls’ pin-up girl paintings, these sexy and colourful paintings were used by airmen during World War II to decorate the sides of planes. Painted to bring good luck to the airmen, Little Bird Gin’s eye catching bottle is inspired to do the same for us.
